چکیده

The sensitivities of the human green and red cone mechanisms to sinusiodally flickering light were found to be near equal and independent of field size and estimation method No wavelength dependency of modulation sensitivity was found. An observer who lacks the red cone pigment (protanope) did not show unusually high flicker sensitivity to green light of 525nm. The modulation transfer function for the normal observer measured with a green flickering test on a red background is identical to that on a green background when the backgrounds have been equated for the green cones by the protanope. The same is true for the contrast transfer function of the normal observer when determined with a green grating on the red and green backgrounds equated by the protanope.

Interchangeable backgrounds for cone afterimages.

Observations of afterimages indicate that red and green cone sensitivities can be modified jndependentiy by bieaehing. providing a way to estimate their sensitivities in the normal eye. The fovea1 afterimage of a red and green bipartite held is allowed to fade against a steady red background. A change of background color from red to green generally revives a bipartite afterimage. If two conditi...

Cone spectral sensitivities and color matching

The eye’s optics form an inverted image of the world on the dense layer of light-sensitive photoreceptors that carpet its rear surface. There, the photoreceptors transduce arriving photons into the temporal and spatial patterns of electrical signals that eventually lead to perception. Four types of photoreceptors initiate vision: The rods, more effective at low light levels, provide our nightti...

Color-Vision Mechanisms in the Peripheral Retinas of Normal and Dichromatic Observers

It is possible that so-called normal trichromatic vision occurs only between the central blue-blind fixation area and about 30 degrees peripherally. Beyond about 30 degrees vision has been alleged to become dichromatic (red-green blind), and beyond about 60 degrees , monochromatic. Hence every form of color blindness may characterize various zones of the normal retina. We have studied mechanism...

Green Dyeing of Silk Fabrics in the Presence of Pomegranate Extract as Natural Mordant

An ecological approach has been obtained by using natural dyes and mordant for dyeing process. Silk fabrics dyed using natural mordants: powder of sour pomegranate and sweet pomegranate and mixture them. A beautiful red color were obtained by using theses mordants. The color of dyed silk fabrics was investigated in CIE Lab L, a and b and K/S values. Finally, all dyed fabrics were tested for was...

Using RGB displays to portray color realistic imagery to animal eyes

RGB displays effectively simulate millions of colors in the eyes of humans by modulating the relative amount of light emitted by 3 differently colored juxtaposed lights (red, green, and blue). The relationship between the ratio of red, green, and blue light and the perceptual experience of that light has been well defined by psychophysical experiments in humans, but is unknown in animals. The p...
